In 2003,
between August and the end of December I had four respiratory infections,
each one more severe, each one requiring stronger antibiotics than the
previous one. It seemed that my sinuses were so infected that a minor cold
always turned into a major infection. I travel a great deal in my job, and
the frequent bouts of poor health and the lack of stamina were affecting
my ability to be as productive as I need to be.
About a year
ago, a friend who is taking Pilates classes with Terry Frare
suggested that I take Pilates with Terry, too. Even my chiropractor, who I
was seeing at least weekly for muscle pain and tightness, recommended
Pilates to tone and strengthen my muscles. I now see Terry as often as I
can -- and the chiropractor far less often. The Pilates, as well as
increased cardio and other workouts, has improved
my endurance tremendously. I had no respiratory infections in all of year
2004, and my travel schedule was more intense than in 2003. A side
benefit, by the way, is that my clothes fit better and I generally feel
better.
I strongly
recommend Terry Frare to anyone who wants to improve his or her stamina or
just wants to feel better and stronger.

When I first begin taking
Pilates in the summer of 2005 I had put on so much weight that I could no
longer get into my "FAT" clothes, even with a girdle! I was taking some
medication that puts on weight and therefore dieting was not really an
option. I was determined, however, that I would NOT go into an even
larger size clothing. I began taking a pilates class at The Pilates
Studio twice a week and increased my exercise routine from 4 days a week
to 5 days. In 6 weeks I was able to get back into my regular clothes. My
weight hasn't gone down much (maybe a pound or two) but I am much more
toned and have a flatter stomach then I have ever had in my life!

Dear Terry,
You know how much I complain and gripe about how much I hate exercise but
I keep coming. For the past twenty five years, I have exercised on a
regular basis. During that time, I have taken aerobic classes, step
aerobic classes, kickboxing, jogging, yoga, (and remember Martha
Rounds??). Pilates is the only exercise that has enabled me to drop two
sizes. I was a fourteen and am now a ten. I love it! Two years ago I had
taken a Pilates class somewhere else but was not impressed. You make the
classes so enjoyable and I don’t know how you do it but keep it up.
